THE CHARITIES

All of the proceeds from the sale of BY THE BAY EAST BEACH STORIES will be donated to local (Norfolk, VA) charities that support literacy.

Our two Charities are Project Light of Norfolk and the Sinkinson Dyslexia Foundation.  We are pleased to be associated with such find organizations.  More about them on facebook, or a brief description below:

The Sinkinson Dyslexia Foundation is dedicated to the diagnosis and remediation of dyslexia.  Serving low income families of Hampton Roads Virginia with free tutoring and testing. They will be attending our book launch on August 5th to help raise awareness of the hard work they do in the community.  They will also be hosting a FREE event on October 1 at Old Dominion University.  Some more information below:

Project Light  is a non-profit organization dedicated to fighting illiteracy by employing a unique combination of software-based instruction, one-to-one tutoring, and community and faith-based Learning Centers. Over the past 28 years, over 500 Project Light Learning Centers have been established across the United States and in 35 other countries worldwide. Project Light was founded in 1980 by Jim Crawford. It is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, headquartered in Norfolk, Virginia.
