The Sniper Sisters Excerpt

Today we have an excerpt from "The Sniper Sisters" by Jayne Ormerod.

But first, let's check out the blurb!

East Beach residents Dorothy Westmoreland and her sister Evelyn Binghamton have retired from lives of organizing bake sales and attending civic league meetings. But that doesn’t mean they're sitting in their rocking chairs.  No, not these two. They become active in their community…in a way nobody expects.

Wow!

Now read the excerpt.

“It’s my turn to pull the trigger.” Evie slipped the gearshift of her navy blue Club Car into reverse and stomped down on the accelerator. The upscale golf cart shot out of the garage and into the alley.

Her older-by-three-minutes sister Dot grabbed onto the support bar and managed, barely, to remain in her seat. “No, you knocked off Marty Knudsen last week, remember?”

“Of course I remember,” Evie snarled as she switched into forward gear. Again she slammed the accelerator while quickly tugging the steering wheel to the left. “Direct hit to his heart. But you got the three before that.”

“Only because your shot at Alma Schaeffer went wide and took out Cuddles McGee instead.”

“It didn’t go wide. I meant to shoot that damn cat. It’d left two more goldfinches on my doorstep that morning.”

Dot struggled to stay in her seat and hold onto her gun as Evie took the turn onto 28th Bay Street on two wheels.
