Guess Who's Coming To Dinner This Time?

Come in!  Come in out of the rain!

With the specter of Hurricane Joaquin looming on the horizon we are so glad that you could join us for another one of our literary dinners!  I hope you had no trouble getting here.  Flooding can sometimes be an issue when we get so much rain.

I'm more than happy to tell you who all of our distinguished guests are tonight.

Anne Rivers Siddon
See those four lovely southern ladies in the corner?  That's Gina Warren Buzby and her guests.  She has invited Sue Monk Kidd, Anne Rivers Siddon and Dorthea Benton Frank.

I believe they've just been served shrimp and grits.  I wonder what they are discussing.  Maybe we can get some really good stories out of them if we let the Firefly vodka flow!

Maybe Mrs. Siddon is explaining the process of having your book made into a movie.  Now that's a conversation that I'd love to sit in on.

Karen Harris has invited St. Paul, P.D. James and Gabriel Garcia Marquez for dinner.

Gabriel Garcia Marquez
Wow!  What an eclectic group to gather for this dinner.  What an exciting idea!  St. Paul for a heated discussions over drinks, Mrs. James for a dramatic supper and Mr. Marquez for a magical dessert.

That is a well thought out invitation!

I wonder what they will discuss since they seem to be a widely varied group of writers.

And last, but not least is Jenny Sparks.  She's invited Pat Conroy, Judith Viorst and JD Salinger.

How delightful that Mr. Conroy is joining us again!  And what a varied groups of writers.

I wonder if they could be convinced to come up with a 'children's book' for publication.  I'd read it!

Do you think Jenny will mind if I sit in on this chat?  I promise to bring her a glass of her favorite bourbon.

I hope you've enjoyed this dinner.  I know I did.  Plus I've found a way to increase my reading list while I was at it.

We've really met some interesting authors tonight.  Authors who've had their works brought to life on the 'big' screen.  I'm sure we'd all have a very interesting conversation about the joys and heartache of that endeavor!

Please feel free to comment on who you'd love to have dinner with.  We'd love to hear from you!
