Today we have an excerpt from "The Town Hall Incident" by Patrick Clark.
But first why don't you read the blurb?
Agents Dandridge and Estefan of the U.S. Secret Service meticulously plan every aspect for the protective detail of presidential candidate Scott Paige’s town hall meeting at the East Beach Bayfront Club. Both personally and professionally, they will learn that you can’t prepare for everything.
Wow!
Now read the excerpt!
“This must be the place,” observed Agent Mark Dandridge of the Secret Service as he pulled his white Chevrolet Impala with U.S. Government license plates into the gravel spaces across the street.
“Nice location,” replied his partner, Toni Estefan. She leaned forward in the passenger seat, looked to her left and scoped the brown single story main building and tall observation tower. “Nice neighborhood, too. This shouldn’t be too hard to prep for.”
“Yeah, right,” replied Dandridge as he turned to face her. “Were it not for the controversy over his comments on free trade, this would be a piece of cake. He upset a lot of people with that.”
Agents Dandridge and Estefan were the lead agents assigned to conduct a site survey to assess the potential threat and coordinate manpower and equipment requirements in advance of Presidential candidate Senator Scott Paige’s planned town hall meeting at the Bayfront Club. The visit was planned for Monday afternoon, which left less than seventy-two hours for them to prepare for the arrival of the Senator’s campaign bus in East Beach.
