Later, Lou would speculate on the evil that overcame him at that moment. He wasn’t a bad guy, not really. It just slipped out. “You know, you never really introduced me to the grandchildren. What are their names?”
“You go to hell.” She grabbed the blond kid’s shoulder and the other one trotted behind her. Halfway to the door she stopped short, the kid following her plowed into the backs of her legs. “You’re really dying to know, aren’t you? You want to know if any of them is really your grandson.”
“I guess I would, yeah.”
“Well, one is, but I’m not going to tell you which one. And don’t forget to call your damned bank.”
